RE/MAX Realty Sponsoring Red, White and BOOM! |
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Red, White, and BOOM will happen again. The city said it's all because a new sponsor is making it possible.
Cape Coral's Chamber of Commerce made the official announcement Thursday.
The event was put on hold after it's main sponsor, Saturn, was phased out by General Motors.
"It was a real pit in our stomachs when the Board of Directors voted not to have this event because it means a lot to the community," Chairman Elmer Tabor said.
Thanks to RE/MAX Realty Team, thousands of people will enjoy the food, fireworks, and fun.
"It was an easy decision for us to make," RE/MAX President Yoselyn Hollow said. "Our agents were all on board and we decided we were just going to give back to the community - and what better way to do so than the Red, White, and BOOM."
The event costs more than 100,000 dollars, but BOOMs new sponsors said you can't put a price on a Cape Coral tradition. WINK News asked how they were able to donate when so many other businesses are hurting.
"It's not about money, it's not about cost, it's not about dollars. Today is about RE/MAX Realty Team agents stepping up to the plate and saving a long-term tradition," Hollow said.
RE/MAX Realty Team has been working in Cape Coral for 20 years and they said they couldn't think of a better way to give back to the community. The business will also be donating some money to the Children's Miracle Network.
